This Refund and Cancellation Policy explains how subscriptions, AI credits and refunds work on There's a Book in Everyone, a platform operated by Around Tenby Ltd. It forms part of our Terms of Service.
1. Free plan
The Free plan is, well, free. There is nothing to refund. If you upgrade to a paid plan, the rest of this policy applies.
2. Paid monthly subscriptions
- Paid plans are billed monthly in advance.
- You can cancel at any time from your Account settings.
- Cancelling stops future renewals but does not automatically refund the current month.
- You keep access to paid features until the end of the current billing period.
3. Annual subscriptions (if offered)
Where annual subscriptions are available:
- They are billed once for the year, in advance.
- You can cancel at any time, and access continues until the end of the paid year.
- We may, at our discretion, offer a pro-rata refund for the unused months if you cancel within a reasonable period and have made only minimal use of paid features.
4. AI credits
- Each paid plan includes a monthly allowance of AI credits.
- Credits are consumed when you make AI-powered requests (drafting, editing, generating covers, etc).
- Used credits are non-refundable — once an AI request has been processed, the credit cost cannot be returned.
- Unused monthly credits do not roll over (unless we say otherwise in writing), have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
- Referral credits, tester credits, promotional credits and welcome credits have no cash value, are not transferable and are non-refundable.
5. Renewals and failed payments
- Subscriptions renew automatically on the same calendar date each period.
- If a renewal payment fails, we may retry the charge and may temporarily suspend paid features until the payment succeeds.
- If a payment still fails after retries, the subscription may be cancelled and the account moved to the Free plan.
6. Downgrades and upgrades
- Upgrades take effect immediately and are charged a pro-rata amount for the rest of the current period.
- Downgrades take effect at the end of the current billing period. You keep paid features until then.
- If a downgrade reduces your project allowance, you'll be asked to choose which projects to keep within the new limit.
7. When we will consider a refund
We will review refund requests fairly. Refunds may be considered where:
- there has been a duplicate payment;
- there has been a billing error on our side;
- you were charged after a confirmed cancellation;
- the platform has suffered a major technical failure that prevented reasonable use of the service you paid for; or
- a refund is required by applicable consumer law.
All refund requests are reviewed manually by our team. We aim to respond within 10 business days.
8. Digital access and your right to cancel
Our service gives you immediate access to digital tools and AI credits as soon as your payment is processed.
Under UK consumer law (the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013), you normally have a 14-day cooling-off period for online purchases. However, by ticking the consent checkbox at checkout, you:
- request immediate access to digital AI tools and credits, and
- acknowledge that you lose the right to cancel any digital service that has been fully performed with your express consent, and that AI credits already consumed cannot be refunded.
If you have not used any AI credits or paid features and you contact us within 14 days of purchase, we will normally refund your subscription in full at our discretion.
9. Enterprise contracts
Enterprise plans (where offered) are governed by a separate written agreement, which may set out different cancellation and refund terms. Those terms take precedence over this policy for that customer.
10. How to request a refund
Email support@theresabookineveryone.com with:
- the email address on the account,
- the date of the charge you're querying,
- a short description of why you're requesting a refund.
We will reply within 10 business days.
11. Statutory rights
This policy does not affect your statutory rights as a consumer under UK law.
